International Affiliation;

AOPA (NZ) Inc. is an affiliate of AOPA International, a world wide
organisation dedicated to the benefit of aircraft owners and pilots.
Representation to the regulatory agencies;
 

AOPA (NZ) works with Government agencies and other similar aviation
organisations to protect the interest of members in areas of regulation,
maintenance, airspace and air traffic control by actively lobbying
regulating authorities and other industry stakeholders.

Member focused Magazine and Member Directory;

AOPA (NZ) produces a quarterly magazine which is delivered free to all
members and covers a wide range of subjects of interest to members. A
Membership Directory, which includes a Members List by Name and Aircraft
Registration in addition the Directory includes an exclusive Member
Airstrip Directory and a Public Aerodrome Amenities list containing
helpful information not readily available elsewhere.

Phone numbers of members can be very useful in getting a reliable check
of weather on a route you may wish to fly.

Aopa Merchandise;

An attractive line of merchandise containing the AOPA logo is available

Avgas Discount and Lubricants Service;

AOPA member's can apply for a SHELL AVGAS Fuel Card that provides a
discount of 6c/litre.  Anyone joining AOPA that already has an Avgas
account with SHELL is also entitled to this discount.  SHELL Aviation
Lubricants may also be purchased at Wholesale Price and will be
delivered anywhere in New Zealand.  SHELL purchases attract Fly Buys.

Cessna Maintenance Variation Program;

Owners of Cessna 100 & 200 Series aircraft can benefit from subscribing
to the AOPA Cessna Maintenance Variation Programme (CMVP) to find out
more 'Click' Cessna Maintenance.
Aircraft Insurance
 
Insurance;

AOPA International has an Insurance Joint Venture with AON, the worlds
largest brokerage.  In New Zealand AOPA has entered into a preferred
brokerage arrangement with AON New Zealand who will negotiate on members
behalf for the best value insurance and then rebate direct to the member
50% of the standard brokerage fee.  This arrangement is available for
Fire and General Insurance as well as Aviation. AON
 
 
 

Aviation Security I.D. Cards;

AOPA has an arrangement whereby members can obtain an Aviation Security
Service I.D. Card that provides 'Airside' access to secure airports.
Official ID is now required at major airports and having an aircraft
parked outside and/or a Pilots License no longer guarantees access.
Members may contact the AOPA Secretary for further information and an
application form.

Member focused flying and social activities;

AOPA (NZ) is also a social group that facilitates regular fly-ins and
social events in both Islands while a ten day air safari is organised
bi-annually alternating between the Islands. These trips allow members
to fly to places and air strips not available to the general public and
broaden flying skills while having a lot of fun and meeting new people.

AOPA (NZ) is a group of people joined together through a passion for
flying aircraft.  Membership provides the opportunity to meet and enjoy
the company of like minded people.
