AOPA Short Approach

Late August 2021

Presidents Report

 Hi folks,

just a short note to let you know that our efforts to get CAA to allow us to fly for a one hour maintenance flight has fallen on deaf ears. It seems that the engine manufacturers claim for aircraft engines to be run 'regularly' was more of an excape mechanism from their legal liability rather than what they really mean....

CAA have been directed by the Ministry of Health to cancel the anticipated rights of private aircraft owners to apply for a periodic one hour flight during lockdown 3 and 4.

We will continue work to try and reinstigate this mainenance flight. However the Ministry of Health are adamant at this stage that only 'essential services' aircraft can fly or have maintenance.

Gloomy best wishes from lock down....
